Lanzarote Breaks
This is the first website we launched and it remains the very best dedicated rentals site for Lanzarote with a loyal following of over 216,000 visits last year. The property portfolio is shared with España Breaks.
How it started
Lanzarote Breaks holds a special place in our portfolio because it proved the business model and got our business started.
The site's main revenue stream comes from second home owners and property agents advertising accommodation across the island for holiday rental. In parallel with España Breaks, we also introduced secondary income streams from affiliates and AdSense in 2009.
The early success of Lanzarote Breaks lead to the expansion of our model across Spain and the property portfolio is shared between both websites. That gives our Lanzarote advertisers two adverts for the price of one with a listing on both portals.
Whilst Lanzarote Breaks is essentially a boutique copy of España Breaks and shares identical functionality, it remains an independent website due to the loyal audience we continue to attract. The site name is still our top keyword and is well known to visitors across the island.
Future development
Any major developments will continue to be shared with España Breaks and will be deployed network wide.
Additionally we are exploring ways to enhance the community aspect of the site, given the loyal following it retains. This may include more social networking opportunities and interaction with the local blogosphere. It's still early days for this type of content and we're watching the wider web for ideas.
