Bath Mums

Launched in September 2010, this website is an unashamed combination of our business and personal lives. Bath Mums was borne of Lisa's personal need for good parenting information following our relocation from London to Bath.
Seeing a need for a one-stop resource for parents, Lisa spent many months compiling an enormous library of information on schools, healthcare, activities and events of interest to parents.
We then sprinkled some of our existing code library into the mix and developed a large website for parents - Bath Mums was born.

The resulting website is surprisingly large and brings together some tried-and-tested web concepts into a single system.
This includes:
- A full membership system (it's free for parents to join)
- A Yell style address database and Google mashup
- An event listings site
- A news resource
- A web forum
- A free classifieds site
- A voucher codes and affiliate system
where's the cash?
Given a well established business we're in the luxurious position of being able to launch this concept with no great financial pressure. Whilst the website will certainly need to pay its way, it has plenty of room to grow organically and for our audience to figure out what they like.
Now that the audience is established, Bath Mums is attracting local businesses who want good advertising opportunities to a hyperlocal audience.
